Minister of Education Deputy Prime Minister Shawn Richards has said that the Environmental Impact Assessment for the proposed new facility for the Basseterre High School has been submitted to the Planning Board, but former Chairman of the Development Control and Planning Board Victor Williams says the EIA should be made public before the project moves ahead.
Williams said, “The EIA for a special project of this nature must be viewed by the public, and have input from the public before the EIA and the result of the EIA is implemented, so there is no public input. When I listened to the minister he also indicated one additional point which I must include, I was told and he stated publicly that the EIA and the drawings were being submitted to the Development Control and Planning Board.
