JALANI HOWELL, the driver of the vehicle within which an illegal firearm and a quantity of ammunition were found, was slapped with three charges yesterday (Feb. 15).

The Bath Village resident was charged with Possession of Firearm, Possession of Ammunition and Smuggling.According to a police communiqué, ranks from the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force and the St. Kitts and Nevis Defence Force were engaged in a joint Stop and Search Operation in Charlestown.

During the Operation, a vehicle was stopped and a searched revealed the find of a Glock .40mm Pistol with 10 matching rounds.Howell was the driver and he, along with the pistol, ammunition and the vehicle, were taken into police custody.
