Resident High Court Judge, His Lordship Justice Trevor Ward, QC, is expected to deliver his highly anticipated judgement today (Wednesday, February 20) in the landmark case brought by the Government of St. Kitts and Nevis against Leader of the Opposition, Dr. Denzil Douglas, to determine whether Dr. Douglas, through his use of a diplomatic passport.
The Constitution of St. Kitts and Nevis prohibits Members of Parliament from holding dual-citizenship.The parliamentary disqualification case, which had its first hearing in the High Court on February 26, 2018, included presentations by experts on Dominican Law as it relates to questions of allegiance.
