AS the security forces relentlessly continue in their efforts to make St. Kitts and Nevis a safer place to visit and live, two more illegal firearms, a quantity of ammunition and two males were taken into custody yesterday (Feb. 23).
According to a police communiqué, while ranks of the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force and the St. Kitts-Nevis Defence Force were conducting a joint patrol yesterday, they heard reports of what appeared to be gunfire close to 7:00 a.m. in the Newtown area.On investigating, the ranks observed two armed.

However, during a search in the Ponds Pasture area, ranks had discovered “one black mask, along with one Taurus pistol with 11 rounds of 9mm ammunition and one Glock pistol with 13 rounds of .40mm ammunition rounds” on an abandoned premises.
