Jason ‘Peewee’ Liddie of Haynes Smith Village is likely facing significant jail time after a jury on Friday found him guilty of house breaking and larceny and one count of rape.The 33 year old was charged with the offences in connection to a break-in at the apartment of a University student in March 2017. He was accused of raping the female and stealing personal items and money from her home.
Liddie went before high court for trial without a lawyer on Monday.Liddie took the stand to give evidence on his own behalf, claiming his innocence and accusing the police of planting his DNA at the scene. He also called three alibi witnesses – his mother, brother and the mother of his children.
