THE two male, one adult and a juvenile, who were taken into police custody on Saturday (Feb. 23) following the discovery of two pistols and 24 rounds of ammunition in Ponds Pasture, were each slapped with three charges.
A police communiqué today (Feb. 26) stated that 26-year old Kareem Jeffers of Thomas Street, Ponds Pasture and a Juvenile were charged with Possession of a Firearm, Possession of Ammunition and Discharging a Firearm in a Public Place.

Police had stated in an earlier press release that while ranks of the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force and the St. Kitts-Nevis Defence Force were conducting a joint patrol last Saturday, they heard reports of what appeared to be gunfire close to 7:00 a.m. in the Newtown area.
