Dealing with the gang culture among young people at an early age is being seen as one way of combating the growing problem of crime across the region.That view was expressed by Commissioner of Police in Anguilla, Paul Morrison, who says that though crime is low on the island, they are not being complacent in dealing with the problem.
Morrison acknowledged that there is no quick fix to the problem of crime.“I think that a lot of young men out of work or in the secondary schools are being radicalized and indoctrinated into the gang culture at an early age, as young 15 maybe, 16 years old. What we’ve got to find is ways of channeling them away from that kind of lifestyle.
