Fire Chief Everette O’Garro said, “Almost 80 percent of our fires last year was brush and land fires, this year we’ve seen a similar trend in that up to February 28 of this year we’ve recorded 144 responses to fires and 88 of those were wildland fires and we are really concerned about this and we are doing our best to see what we can do to help to prevent and curtail these incidents of wildland fires.”
