REGIONAL airline LIAT has further suspended its passenger operations until the end of June.
In a statement late yesterday (May 29), the airline said due to the continued impact of the COVID-19 pandemic its commercial passenger service would remain suspended until June 30, 2020.In the statement, Chief Executive Officer, Mrs. Julie Reifer-Jones reported that most of LIAT’s network remains closed to commercial passenger traffic.
Though several territories have announced a reopening date, there are still protocols to be implemented, such as testing and mandatory quarantine periods, which will allow for the safe movement of passengers.To this end, the airline is said to be closely monitoring the situation in the LIAT network and would resume flights when it is safe for passengers to do so.
